After losing so many people in our family last year, it only seemed befitting to get this Bzz campaign for Otrib.com. As a writer, social media is something we use frequently. Now most everyday people use it, too. What happens to your Facebook account when you die? Here is some info from Bzz agent about how Otrib helps:
What are your Final Wishes?
Sure, it’s a morbid question, but it’s definitely one worth asking: what happens to your Facebook account after you die? Can people still post to your Wall? Do you continue to receive friend requests? Will you still get “poked”? With an estimated 5.7 million deceased Facebook users since 2003, it happens. That’s why Otrib.com created their free new Final Wishes Facebook application, so you can name an heir for your digital assets and confirm how your account should be managed upon your death and:
Add a Life Status Indicator to your Facebook profile
Send out a real-time death notification to all connections
Help your next of kin save time and money by automatically creating a tribute page or interactive online obituary and transferring administration of your Facebook account to your heir
I recently had the privilege of sampling Norah Jones new album "Featuring." Thanks to One2One Network, Norah Jones and her famous crew, it was a feel-good musical experience. Norah crooned with legends such as Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson along with an array of others including Ray Charles, Q-Tip and Sean Bones.
Years ago I fell in love with Norah Jones with "Come Away with Me." I still cry when I hear "Don't Know Why" (honestly, what girl with Venusity doesn't). Norah Jones has won nine Grammy Awards. She was born in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn in 1979.
Norah sang at the church and considers herself spiritual. According to Wikipedia, Norah Jones said Willie Nelson is her mentor. On "Featuring", Norah Jones sang "Baby It's Cold Outside" with Willie Nelson. This is already my favorite holiday song.
Other listening pleasures on Norah Jones "Featuring" include "Virginia Moon" with the Foo Fighters, "Here We Go Again" with Ray Charles, "Sleepin' In" with Dolly Parton and "Life is Better" with Q-Tip. No matter what your music taste, you'll find it on Norah Jones "Featuring."
Check it out at Norah Jones and find out more about "Featuring." The album is officially released today!
Goldstar: Check out this site I found called Goldstar. They have half-price tickets and member reviews of concerts, sports, theater and more. I'm already a member! https://www.goldstar.com/join?p=F361846RB
Amazing deals with the holidays ahead on shows and events in all the major cities and surrounding areas. The ticket savings are really impressive. It's the difference between sitting at home and going out (which obviously has more Venusity). Who says you can't be frugal and have fun, too? Check out Goldstar, the savings are sweet.
Get inspired after you see a professional show. Put on a show with your friends, family or neighbors. Consider drama, comedy, dance, song or magic as performance options. Donate the proceeds to charity for the holidays. What's better than starring in a show and helping others? Even if you don't have money, you have time to donate to a worthy cause...that's Venusity.
Are these hot Halloween costumes sexy or skanky? Seductive Halloween costumes definitely have Venusity. What will you dare to do for Halloween? Check out what these ladies are willing to wear for fun and chills http://bit.ly/aS8VVe
This year we're fortunate enough to be the Coolest House on the Block thanks to SheSpeaks magazine and Snickers and Mars candy. We get to try the latest new Snickers that won't be released until this winter! (I must tell you we could not hold out until Halloween and they are absolutely delicious. Pictures of the cool decorations and Snickers fun will be posted throughout the end of this week in anticipation of Halloween Eve and Halloween. Spooky surprises to come!)
I will be a witch this year. I found a femininely frightening cape at CVS. The ombre cape is black with a hood and red around the bottom. A black outfit with lace and red nails with black tips finish the ensemble.
Best of all, the cape was only $9.99 and I had a coupon for $5 off my purchase so it only cost $4.99 plus tax. That's Venusity and frugality! Who says you can't have both? Always remember to scan your CVS card for those printable coupons before shopping - that's how I saved more money.
Did you know Victoria's Secret is selling racy Halloween costumes with all their fabulous signature touches? For a few more bucks, you can really heat up Halloween night.
Are you prepared to put together a sexy Halloween costume? A hot yet affordable costume could be worth your while. With Halloween parties, parades and contests on Saturday night, you might wind up winning big for your costume creation. There's nothing scary about that!
Tune in for more about the mysterious new Snickers Peanut Butter Squared...mu, ha, ha, ha...
Treeliving.com Planting the seeds for a better future! Improving the world starts with just one click... http://www.mylike.treeliving.com/
Going green definitely has Venusity. Protecting the future of the world for our children and grandchildren is the only way to go. One of the biggest problems with going green is where to start. Treeliving is a website offering practical tips about environmental efforts and how you can make positive changes.
Plant your own garden or grow herbs in the kitchen. Turn off lights when not in use. Walk to the store instead of driving (it's great exercise, too!) Make sure your home has insulation and thermal windows to stay temperature controlled without using more energy. Consider alternative forms of energy and fuel.
Each person makes a difference when they go green. The combined efforts of many individuals can really change the world! What are you waiting for?
Rachael Leigh Cook, sensational celebrity actress and model, doesn't agree with airbrushing. She supports "real" beauty, especially in light of how young women are affected by the media. Frankly, that takes major Venusity!
Recently Rachael Lee Cook joined Oscar-winning actress Geena Davis at the 2010 Healthy Media for Youth Summit in Washington DC for The Creative Coalition and the Girl Scouts of the USA. The summit addressed body image issues for girls. As a former Girl Scout, I am impressed by their ability to zoom in on current issues to help young women develop healthier perspectives.
Cook told Fox News she thinks it is an absolute travesty that young woman see what the media feeds them, saying, "It breaks my heart to be part of an industry and part of a machine that really pushes out these images and propagates these terrible standards that are false. Nothing that you see is real, even if you look at what looks like a candid photo of someone, anything cam be done. It is false advertising and false advertising is a crime, so why isn't this a crime? I'm just up in arms about it.
Rachael Leigh Cook makes two important points. First of all, false images of women make young girls try to achieve an impossible and unhealthy standard. Secondly, false advertising is allowed to run rampant today. We need to infuse more truth into the media and stop buying into the lies...both literally and figuratively.

Katy Perry on Sesame Street has Venusity. Would you believe seeing Katy Perry on Sesame Street? Apparently we won't be seeing Katy Perry on Sesame Street anytime in the near future because her skit with Elmo was considered too hot.
The Children's Television Workshop might have chilled on the idea when Sesame Street producers decided not to air the Katy Perry Sesame Street segment on television. Katy Perry wears a shapely dress but it's not inappropriate. MTV reveals a statement from the producers about Katy Perry on Sesame Street:
“In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on YouTube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of 'Sesame Street,' which is aimed at preschoolers. Katy Perry fans will still be able to view the video on YouTube.”
Honestly, I think there have been plenty of other controversial guests on Sesame Street such as the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I know most young girls sing along with Katy Perry. The Katy Perry Sesame Street video shows she is playing dress-up and Elmo is playing tag, fun games kids can relate to. Are adults reading too much into it? I think the skit has Venusity!
Check out Katy Perry on Sesame Street and let us know what you think. (There is one racy moment when Elmo circles around Katy Perry's legs...)
With Venusity in mind, remember to visit Venusity's delicious chocolate spa contest compliments of Pillsbury and MyBlogSpark.

At least once a year, we go back to basics during a family camping trip. It feels good to leave behind the everyday hassles and even escape pleasures such as television shows and surfing the 'net.
Before we bought a second hand pop-up camper, we used a tent. The easier the tent is to setup the better it is for your family. Let's face it, kids get very impatient when it takes a couple of hours to put together the home scene. (Parents also get frustrated by a bunch of poles that never seem to fit properly together.)
Both Wind Ridge and Cabelas make easy-set tents that you put up in about ten minutes. Imagine how much more fun you'll all have without spending endless hours setting up and taking down the tent.
Another camp trip tip - order free samples all year and store them in a box. When you're ready to go camping, you'll have plenty of shampoo packets and grooming accessories to give everyone a few packets.
Happy camping and enjoy the upcoming Labor Day weekend!
I just discovered my children return to school this Friday. Due to what is apparently a unique school calendar, they will be attending school before Labor Day. I was less than thrilled and glad I already went shopping for their school clothing and sneakers (thanks to a little financial help from Grandma).
With endless responsibilities in those final few days before back to school, I also realized the importance of sucking up the end of summer. We visited the local ice cream parlor to play games and eat sweet treats. (I only got a small dish of chocolate to maintain my Venusity.) My husband completely reset and cleaned the swimming pool to cool off during the dog days of summer.
Much like anything in life, with endings come new beginning. The summer always seems too short. I miss the children when they are gone all day. On the other hand, the freshness of back to school is exciting. When the children go back, I can do more writing (and we certainly need the income).
Now I'm just waiting to receive one more school schedule and the dreaded list of school supplies...
It's been six weeks since I posted. Have I lost my Venusity? Never happen! Just a momentary lapse to deal with real life.
My son graduated from elementary school in June. My daughter had her recital. Both children performed in the spring concert. My son had his football tournament. I landed some writing gigs (more on that next time). With all this going on, the kids brought home pink eye. Not a pleasant couple of weeks!
I wound up with an infection myself...nasty stuff that took my off my feet. I'm feeling better but still following up with labs and doctors.
What's the good news? I also joined the gym and managed to workout at least three times weekly for the past two months (except for that week I was totally on my back). That's Venusity!
Now that I'm back, it's time for a little more time out. Will you be feeling your best as you face the Fourth? If not, I'll have some sweet summer suggestions over the next few weeks. My first one - don't forget the sunscreen and aloe gel if you're catching some rays!
Armed Forces Day 2010 is a time to thank the men and women serving this country. In the United States, we celebrate Armed Forced Day 2010 on Saturday, May 15.
Armed Forces Day was created in 1949 to honor Americans serving in the five branches of the United States military, the Marine Corps, Army, Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard. My husband is a disabled veteran so I will be doing something special for him today.
Harry S. Truman lead the effort to establish Armed Forces Day to bring citizens together to thank military members for their service. On August 31, 1949, Secretary of Defense Louis Johnson made Armed Forces Day official. It replaced separate days celebrating each branch of the service based on their unification under the Department of Defense.
On Saturday, May 20, 1950, the first Armed Forces Day was celebrated. The theme was “Teamed for Defense” to show the unification of the military branches under a single government department. During many Armed Forces Day celebrations, military members showed off their latest equipment to Americans.
Many countries have their own Armed Forces Day including Canada, Israel, Mexico and Vietnam. In the United States, Armed Forces Day 2010 honors those men and women serving all branches of the military. National Guard and Reserve units have a unique training schedules and may celebrate the day anytime in May.
Armed Forces Day falls near Armed Forced Week, which starts on the second Saturday of May. The week ends on the third Sunday of May. The third Saturday in May is designated Armed Forces Day. The special day is celebrated by parades, air shows, open houses and receptions all over the country. Have you ever attended an Armed Forces Day parade?
The longest running celebration of Armed Forces Day takes place in Bremerton, WA. Last year they held their 61st Armed Forces Day Parade.
Visit Defense.gov to download a special poster for Armed Services Day 2010. The statement on the poster is “United in Strength.”
A sincere thanks to everyone who put on that uniform to serve in the military, including my husband, my father and my uncle. Often “Taps” is played on a bugle for Armed Forces Day on a bugle. My son plays the trumpet so I think I know what we'll be doing for Dad today.
Happy Armed Forces Day 2010! Here is a YouTube video of Armed Forces Day celebrations in Hawthorne, Nevada:
Tylenol recall 2010 includes dozens of kids products from McNeil Consumer Healthcare. The Tylenol 2010 recall was voluntary and included Tylenol, Motrin and children's medicines sold over-the-counter in both tablet and liquid form.

Annette Edwards is the great-grandma who loves to dress up like cartoon character Jessica Rabbit. In her quest to resemble Jessica Rabbit, Annette Edwards spent about $16,000 on plastic surgery including facial implants and a breast lift. Is there more to the bunny obsession than Jessica Rabbit for Annette Edwards? Just like I love our bunny Poof, Annette Edwards is a bunny enthusiast.
While it might seem unusual for Annette Edwards to want to resemble Jessica Rabbit, nobody questions Playboy bunnies for putting on ears or getting plastic surgery. Annette Edward breeds rabbits. According to the Huffington Post, Annette Edwards appeared on “This Morning” in England with Alice, the 2010 Guinness World Record holder for longest rabbit in the world.
Why did Annette Edwards want to look like Jessica Rabbit? She said, “You only live once. Do what makes you feel good.” She even ate rabbit food such as salads to get the curvaceous Jessica Rabbit shape. What do you think of Annette Edwards looking like Jessica Rabbit?
With Heidi Montag in mind, plastic surgery can get over the top. Do you think Annette Edwards is over the top, too? While I love Poof and bunnies, I can't imagine resembling Jessica Rabbit...although her singing is fun to watch!
Here are YouTube videos of Annette Edwards singing looking like Jessica Rabbit:
RecoveryEminem Not Afraid lyrics were just released. I remember Eminem before his climb to fame and 8 Mile. I found Eminem Not Afraid lyrics and music compelling, much like his former work. I like his transformation in this song. Check out Eminem Not Afraid lyrics and video thanks to what seems to be an Eminem Not Afraid leak:

As we've discussed in the past, I am working on losing weight and feeling great. Several health conditions helped me pack on the pounds over the past few years. I feel proud because I joined the gym yesterday!
Now that the weather is better, why join the gym? Here are a few reasons:
- my daily walk gets boring even when I change the route;
- sometimes I am not disciplined enough to workout at home daily;
- I have no excuse for not working out on warmer days because I can visit an air-conditioned gym;
- knowing other women share the same goals and are making it happen; and
- now that I have health problems, exercise is part of my treatment and I have to make room for it.
If I continue to go to lunch with my friends and family, I'll keep packing on the pounds. Working at home get sedentary so I took initiative and joined by myself. I already worked out for half hour yesterday and burned 150 calories.
I can't wait to go this morning. Yes, going to the gym works for me. Does it work for you? Why or why not?
When I don't have time for the gym, I pop on a 10 Minute Solution DVD. It only takes 10 minutes to enjoy the benefits of exercise. With the 10 Minute Solution and the gym, I know I'll have Venusity in my swimsuit this summer! What are you doing to achieve your health and fitness goals?
National Pretzel Day is today! National Pretzel Day is a good day to get twisted. I got twisted twice today for National Pretzel Day...did you?
Before I even realized it was National Pretzel Day, I turned myself into one. To clarify, I did my yoga positions this morning after falling out of my usual routine for a few days. It felt good to get twisted first thing in the morning!
When I had my cup of joe and realized it was National Pretzel Day, I decided to eat my last bag of Nabisco 100 Calorie Yogurt Covered Pretzels. Gather sent them to me during a sad time a few weeks ago. Those pretzels cheered me up until today! Who knew Gather would help me get twisted for National Pretzel Day?
I am glad I managed to celebrate National Pretzel Day without compromising my Shedding Light diet.
What are you doing for National Pretzel Day? Did you get twisted yet? What are you waiting for...come join me!
Here is a YouTube video showing how to make a pretzel on National Pretzel Day:
Menarche is the word of the day. Decades ago, I did not know the word menarche when the event occurred. Now I want young women (and older ones) to know the meaning of the word menarche when it's most important.
I turned to Merriam-Webster dictionary for the definition of menarche:
menarche - the beginning of the menstrual function; especially : the first menstrual period of an individual.
Did you know the meaning of menarche? When menstruation started, it was typically referred to as your first period. Menarche sounds more ladylike to me. It also rolls off the tongue like Monarch, a butterfly, the transformation...
Words are beautiful.
Here is a YouTube video clip from Period Piece about a woman's menarche:
I just realized Administrative Professionals Day 2010 is today, April 21. Back in the old days, it was called Secretary's Day (eek!). As a former secretary, I have hilarious memories. I'm glad to see the holiday renamed to Administrative Professionals Day since most secretaries are smarter than the boss!
Being an administrative professional is no easy task. You are responsible for the biggest details yet get the smaller paycheck. Anything anyone does wrong is typically considered your fault. Even strangers blame the secretary...or to be politically correct, administrative professional.
In my former secretarial career I was hit on, subpoenaed, unpaid, emptied the garbage, expected to lie, worked unpaid overtime and left by bosses who literally fled in the night. (I worked for major banks, corporations and municipal attorneys...I can't imagine what it must be like in the “real” world.)
When I became the boss, I quickly learned not all secretaries were as hard-working as I was. I discovered hiring was a more painstaking process than I thought but worth every minute. Who wants to watch employees talk on the phone, do their nails, eat, hide in the bathroom and cry? (That goes for bosses, too...either way, it's time for someone to move on.)
My last three secretaries were gold and I showed them. Flowers, bonuses, lavish luncheons, spa treatments, kudos...they deserved even more than I gave.
Each one told me I was the best boss ever. It's no wonder because I knew where they were coming from! I recommended all of them for better positions and wished them well as they moved forward. Don't you wish all bosses did that instead of keeping you cornered in a dead end job?
Now I wear all hats for my business. Should I treat myself to goodies for Administrative Professionals Day? After all, I act as my own administrative professional. (NO, that was NOT me disguising my voice saying I wasn't in right now!)
I think I deserve a manicure...and a pedicure for Admin Day. Hmm...followed by a languid bath with freshly scented candles, chocolates and wine...but back to Administrative Professionals Day for everyone else...
Show the Administrative Professionals you work with (as a boss or client) the appreciation they deserve today. When I was a secretary, thoughtful clients gave me beautiful gifts. It made me feel acknowledged and appreciated. You don't know how far that box of candy or flowers might go...especially if the boss is a closet clod.
If you are the boss, MONEY TALKS! Yes, that's what shows your appreciation for the dedication your administrative professional shows everyday.
Yup, they DO want more than a “Happy Administrative Professionals Day, I'll get my own joe today.” Hard, cold cash talks...and BS walks!
Happy Administrative Professionals Day 2010 ...without you, businesses would stop dead in their tracks!
Here is an amusing YouTube video about the modern administrative assistant:

Venusity means saving money so you have more to spend on the little luxuries :)
Skin deep beauty for total Venusity means relief of allergy symptoms. Allergy symptoms are in inevitable part of spring for many people. As the sun starts shining and the flowers bloom, allergy symptoms make it difficult to enjoy the beautiful weather. What are allergy symptoms and what can you do to relieve them?
Typical allergy symptoms include:
- nasal congestion with an inability to breathe;
- itchy, runny nose;
- sneezing;
- red, itchy eyes; and
- scratchy throat.
If you are suffering from allergy symptoms, it is likely you are allergic to pollen or other irritants in the air. To find out the pollen count in the morning, visit pollen.com.
Also check out your local weather channel to find out the pollen index. Typically the early morning is worst so you might want to avoid spending time outside to avoid aggravating your allergy symptoms.
How can you relieve your allergy symptoms? Many people use OTC decongestants or antihistamines. What is the difference?
Decongestants relieve congestion by constricting blood vessels in your nose so it doesn't run as much. Antihistamines block the effects of histamine, a chemical naturally produced by your body in response to allergies that causes those dreaded allergy symptoms.
How do I relieve my allergy symptoms? For years, I used prescription steroid nasal drops and decongestants. Now I use a neti pot, blue green algae and proper grooming habits. Washing your hair daily gets rid of the pollutants near your face.
Click neti pot to find out more about this easy, natural way to relieve allergy symptoms. I also find blue green algae and spirulina helpful in clearing up congestion.
Other ways to relieve allergy symptoms include OTC saline nasal sprays such as Afrin.
If your allergy symptoms do not subside, it might be the sign of a bigger health issue. Visit your doctor immediately to discuss your allergy symptoms and find solutions.
Personal care products can also cause allergy symptoms. Skin Deep is a safety guide to the beauty products and cosmetics you use everyday. Skin Deep is from researchers at the Environmental Working Group. Are your beauty products slowly killing you? Visit the Skin Deep website to search by company, product or ingredient.
Skin Deep offers you an opportunity to register with the website to write product reviews. Skin Deep also has a link to shop through Amazon to donate 8.5 percent of your purchase to the Environmental Working Group (EWG).
Beauty products fail to live up to their name with toxic ingredients. Skin Deep gives cosmetics and personal care products hazard scores. Dangers listed include allergens, toxicity and more. Find out about what you use at cosmeticsdatabase.com
Two brands I use were ranked high by Skin Deep for hazardous stuff. I use L'oreal (because I'm worth it?) and Almay (presumed to be hypoallergenic). My mom's brand Revlon was ranked right up there, too. Several other major brands, including high end names, where ranked high for hazardous materials.
Skin Deep helps you find out more about what you put on the skin you're in. Skin is your largest organ. Your skin protects your other organs and everyone see it. Skin Deep researchers are working to provide important details about the ingredients in your everyday beauty essentials.
You'll breathe easier and enjoy the warmer weather when you relieve those nagging allergy symptoms!

Earlier we posted the link for the IRS tax extension form 2009 (IRS Form 4868), also referred to by some as the tax extension form 2010 (since you file your 2009 taxes in 2010). Tax day is stressful for everyone so Starbucks free coffee April 15 takes the edge off.
Click tax extension form 2010 to get the link to file for your extension now. Get ready to celebrate with Starbucks free coffee April 15 which is part of The Big Picture. It's a green movement started in NYC Starbucks to ditch the paper cups for greener, reusable ones. Sounds like a great idea to me!
Did you know I'm Bzzing Starbucks Pikes Peak Roast from Starbucks for BzzAgent? Pikes Peak Roast is a rich, delicious everyday coffee you can buy right at your local supermarket. Best of all, you can trade in your Empty Pikes Peak Roast coffee bag (before the expiration date on the package) for a free 12 ounce coffee at Starbucks! That's green, free and yummy...three of my favorite things!
Here is a YouTube video about how to file a tax extension form 2010:
Neti pot for spring allergies saves my sinuses and quality of life. Using a neti pot makes a major difference in my breathing during the day and when I sleep. When sinus surgery was suggested for my allergies and sleep apnea, I decided to approach my health holistically with a neti pot and supplements.
What exactly is a neti pot? A neti pot is a small device that resembles a teapot. You can purchase a neti pot in your local pharmacy. Most neti pots are plastic but some are made from ceramic. Awhile back the use of a neti pot was featured on the Dr. Oz show.
The neti pot is filled with a sterile saline solution. My neti pot was purchased from RiteAid came with packets of saline to mix with water. You mix up the solution in the neti pot then flush out your sinuses naturally. I use warm water with a single saline packet, fill the neti pot and get rid of the gunk!
You pour the neti pot into each nostril and the saline solution flows out the other nostril. As the solution comes out, you will see mucous and other matter from inside your nose. The neti pot clears out irritants and congestion so you breathe better. It eases the symptoms of my allergies and totally eliminates my sleep apnea.
The secret to using the neti pot is the angle of your head. Use a neti pot over the sink to catch the saline solution. Angle your head slightly to ensure the solution flows through your sinuses. Practice with a neti pot makes perfect. Don't get discouraged because using the neti pot is worth the effort of learning.
I also take blue green algae to relieve my congestion and find it works more effectively than any prescription I've tried. This simple organism does the trick better than any over the counter decongestant or antihistamine I've used.
I hope the neti pot and blue green algae supplements help you breathe better through your spring allergies! Without meds or side effects, you can breathe freely with a neti pot.

Erykah Badu Window Seat video brings many thoughts to mind for me. Erykah Badu Window Seat video proves she is an artist on many levels. Consider the location of the video is where John F. Kennedy was shot. Check out Erykah Badu shed her clothes throughout the video...her back says "evolving" and blood from her wound spells "Groupthink".
I loved it and had to share it with you, especially after reviewing my recent Shedding Light journey. Erykah Badu is definitely a woman with Venusity! Erykah Badu did work with L'il Wayne, more later. Let me know what you think of Erykah Badu Window Seat video and lyrics:
Window Seat (lyrics from eLyricsWorld)
so, presently i’m standing
here right now
you’re so demanding
tell me what u want from me
concluding
concentrating on my music , lover , and my babies
makes me wanna ask the lady for a ticket outta town…
so can i get a window seat
don’t want nobody next to me
i just want a ticket outta town
a look around
and a safe touch down
window seat
don’t want nobody next to me
i just want a chance to fly
a chance to cry
and a long bye bye..
but i need u to want me
need you to miss me
i need your attention
i need you next me
i need someone to clap for me
i need your direction
somebody say come back
come back baby come back
i want u to need me
come back come back baby come back
come back come back baby come back
come back come back baby come back
so, in my mind i’m tusslin’
back and forth ‘tween here and hustlin’
i don’t wanna time travel no mo
i wanna be here
i’m thinking
on this porch i’m rockin’
back and forth light lightning hopkins
if anybody speak to scotty
tell him beam me up..
so can i get a window seat
don’t want nobody next to me
i just want a ticket outta town
a look around
and a safe touch down
window seat
don’t want nobody next to me
i just want a chance to fly
a chance to cry
and a long bye bye..
but i need you to miss me
need somebody come get me
need your attention
need your energy yes i do
need someone to clap for me
need your affection
somebody say come back
come back baby come back
i want u to need me
come back come back baby come back
come back come back baby come back
come back come back baby come back
but can i get a window seat
don’t want nobody next to me
i just want a ticket outta town
a look around
and a safe touch down…
i just need a chance to fly
a chance to cry
and a long
bye bye……..
Phoebe Prince was the 15 year old girl who committed suicide after endless actual and online torture from her peers. Denise Cotteta is a 17 year old girl who died right outside her high school in a car accident. Both young women lost their lives too soon.
Today 9 teens were indicted in the death of Phoebe Prince. Meanwhile, police continue to investigate to find out the circumstances surrounding the death of Denise Cotteta. Both seem to be tragedies that could have been avoided.
It is scary to think about how vulnerable our teens are. Was there no way to save Phoebe Prince or Denise Cotteta? What does life mean to other young people? Are teens desensitized to what is happening around them to the point their peers could die?
As a mother and grandmother, it makes me want to hold my children closer. I appreciate the ongoing investigations to achieve justice in the cases of Phoebe Prince and Denise Cotteta. The sad part is even in the face of justice, we cannot bring back Phoebe Prince or Denise Cotteta.
My heart goes out to the families and friends of Phoebe Prince and Denise Cotteta. I can only imagine the loss and pain they feel. I hope hearing about Phoebe Prince and Denise Cotteta makes every teen (and adult) think harder about their actions and how they affect others.

Is Fat Tuesday making you fatter? Are you indulging in Polish Paczki today? Did you party, eat and drink all week during Mardi Gras festivals? With the arrival of Ash Wednesday tomorrow, you'll have 46 days to tighten your belt and trim down for revealing warm weather clothes.
I refuse to get fatter for Fat Tuesday. Tonight I''m making organic buttermilk pancakes and ham steaks instead of eating sugar and fat. I might also indulge in a glass of red wine...no calorie-packed Mardi Gras cocktails for me!
Here is my easy organic buttermilk pancake recipe using Maple Grove organic buckwheat pancake mix:
Organic Buckwheat Pancake Recipe for Fat Tuesday
Maple Grove organics buckwheat pancake and waffle mix
1 cup mix
¾ cup 2% milk
1 tbsp of lowfat vegetable oil
1 egg
½ teaspoon cinnamon
Grease and preheat your fry pan or griddle. Combine the ingredients in a bowl with a spoon until blended. Thick batter makes thick pancakes while thin batter makes thin ones so mix to the desired consistency. Pour on the griddle and fry until browned. Serve with baked apples, light whipped cream or sugar-free maple syrup by Maple Grove. As an alternative, cook the ham steaks (fry or bake) in apples or pineapples and serve over the pancakes. You won't even get fat on this healthy Fat Tuesday recipe!
If you can wait for your pancake fix, check out IHOP National Pancake Day on February 23. Between 7 AM and 10 PM, you get a free stack of three buttermilk pancakes at IHOP on National Pancake Day. After all, women with Venusity also have frugality!
Happy Mardi Gras!
